- "Everyone is entitled in full equality to fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him." (UDHR - 10)
- «Toute personne a droit à ce que sa cause soit entendue équitablement et publiquement par un tribunal compétent, indépendant et impartial, établi par la loi, qui décidera soit du bien-fond? de tout accusation en matière pénale dirigée contre elle, soit des contestations sur ses droits et obligations de caractère civil.» (PIDCP - 14 (1)).
