This file consists of an oral history interview with Dr. Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela, and associated documents. The interview was conducted by Pauline Tennent, with videographer Jessica Sigurdson, on September 30, 2010.

Dr. Gobodo-Madikizela speaks about:

•Her childhood and her experiences as a black woman in South Africa during Apartheid and the release of Mandela.

•Her work as a human rights activist, psychologist, researcher and professor at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.

•Serving on the Human Rights Violations Committee of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), and her thoughts about the Commission.

•What human rights mean to her, the challenges human rights are facing today and her hopes and dreams for the future.
