Research and Curation was established in 2010, when it was originally called Research, Content and Scholarship. In 2011, when Collections moved to the Design + New Media department (later called Design + New Media & Collections), the Research, Content and Scholarship department name was then changed to Research and Curation.

This file consists of an oral history interview with Christine (Chris) Morrissey, and associated documents. The interview was conducted by Rhonda Hinther, with videographer Jessica Sigurdson, on October 22, 2010.

Ms. Morrissey speaks about:
•The role religion and faith played in her family and early life in British Columbia.
•Her experiences as a Catholic nun, living in a convent, teaching in places such as Malaysia and the United States and her activism in other places, such as Chile under Pinochet.
•Her early lesbian crushes, how her religion, faith and lesbian sexuality interacted and evolved, her long term relationship with a fellow Catholic nun, and their decision to leave the convent.
•Their successful federal lawsuit related to same-sex immigration sponsorship, and her co-founding the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Task Force (LEGIT) in Vancouver.
•Co-founding the Rainbow Refugee Society, and her extensive work with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered refugee claimants.
